    Biggest Hole Ever

Tuesday, June 20, 2006, 11:24 PM CST [General]

Apparently those crazy Russians decided to dig an incredibly deep hole while the Cold War was still going strong.  Although the project was cancelled a decade ago they did make quite a lot of progress:

When drilling stopped in 1994, the hole was over seven miles deep (12,262 meters), making it by far the deepest hole ever drilled by humankind. The last of the cores to be plucked from from the borehole were dated to be about 2.7 billion years old, or roughly 32 million times older than Abe Vigoda. But even at that depth, the Kola project only penetrated into a fraction of the Earth's continental crust, which ranges from twenty to eighty kilometers thick.

In my opinion the cores they plucked from the hole were planted there by Satan to try and convince us that the Earth is over 2.7 billion years old.  That devil is crafty like a fox.

    Summer TV Drought

Monday, June 12, 2006, 08:54 PM CST [General]

I've barely watched any television since the latest season of American Idol ended.  It seems as though the networks have no new stellar content at all in these first weeks of summer.  I may try to catch up on the last seasons of Lost and Desperate Housewives since I missed the entirety of season 2 for both of those shoes.

Mostly I am waiting for Big Brother All Stars to start.  Big Brother 6 was a riot to watch and if Kaysar or Howie make it into All Stars then I am sure the season will be full of Iraqi and Jedi excitement.
