    Idolatry gone Crazy

Thursday, March 8, 2007, 11:54 PM CST [Pop Culture]

I really don't know what America was thinking and judging from the Judges' reactions on American Idol tonight neither do they. Sabrina and Sundance were sent home? How in the heck did Sanjaya have enough votes to stay? Who in the world would vote for that poor guy. At least Chicken Little from last season had a decent singing voice. Sanjaya is so far out of his league it's not even funny.

I am all for the charity work which is going to be a part of Idol this season. While I don't particularly like U2, I do respect Bono and I bet Idol can slaughter the poor performing Red campaign. Seeing Ryan and Simon in Africa together was quite interesting.

    Kellie Pickler on Idol

Friday, March 2, 2007, 09:45 PM CST [Pop Culture]

Well, I hate for a post about pop culture to mark my long awaited return to the blogosphere, but here goes...

I was quite disappointed with last night's episode of American Idol. It wasn't just the fact that Antonella and Sanjaya deserved to go home and didn't--the whole Kellie Pickler song just disturbed me so.

I don't know what she was thinking... her makeup job was over the top and her boob job is downright preposterous. She looked terrific last year, she didn't need to go out and spend the proceeds from her gold record on plastic surgery. Now she is veering into Dolly territory. On the plus side, I did enjoy her song and I think her singing is much improved.

I didn't have a big problem with who America sent home. None of the ones who were sent packing were Top 8 material anyway. I still don't have a favorite, but I think the use of Jamiroquai in this week's episode reinvigorated my interest in this season.
